| This camera is great, I wanted a camera for the boat and the beach where I dont have to worry about getting it wet or dropping it, and it does exactly what I wanted. I read about bad delay when taking a picture, but I havent noticed it |

| The picture quality is not good at all. My 13 year old doesn't even use it because of this. I purchased the previous Olympus 8mp model (orange) for another daughter, and it takes much better pictures. I prefer the pictures from my older model Pentax underwater camera. |
Survived very rough conditions in Costa Rica...

I took this camera on a field biology expedition to Costa Rica. I admit I didn't really use it for underwater photography, because visibility is crummy in the Pacific side of CR. However, I was looking for something that would be ok through rain, sweat, mud, and other harsh conditions.
This camera did not disappoint on that front. It got dropped in the ocean while unpacking the boats. It got rained on often. It lived in the hip belt of my backpacking pack where it would get water and sweat on it sometimes. I even had it in my pants pocket while fording a river up to my hips. It's a champ.
I was not expecting the picture quality to match my Canon SLR, so I can't say I was too surprised when I saw that macro shots of many awesome Costa Rican critters were blurry. That said, next expedition, I'm taking this camera and my SLR. Different cameras, different purposes.
